My 12 - 9 hours revolve around when I wake up to when I get home from work, lol. That's why I'm so active during that time.

We have not had a bar day in quite a while. For the next one, it should be just an open invitation posted right on the site.

I have also been gone a lot. Red Deer, Canmore, ...etc. I am actually on my way out the door today too. This is probably the issue with everybody else, maybe winter will have more activity.

Another thing to note: you're better off than Justin is in his current game with me, or nygren for that matter. Both of them allowed my knight to wreak absolute havoc and shatter their lines.

One of these days we're all going to have to sit down together and play chess while eating hot wings and drinking beer/wine etc. :D

And I would advise some reading on it. There's lifetimes of theory out there that can get you past the tough part.

Justin is reading the same book I bought lol. That's what we're looking at for openings.

I have been thinking about doing a little chess reading. It is how the algebra skill came, why not chess.

You're definitely improving rapidly though. If I weren't improving so much as well you'd be pressing me very, very hard. I'd say you're closing in on the skill level I had when I started here, if not surpassing that level. Mike has forced me to rapidly improve my skill level, lol. Though I really should do some reading on chess aside from openings... the knowledge I have about the game after opens is mostly intuition.

A 7 point advantage is pretty significant at this point, as you have 14 points and I have 21. In general to garuntee endgame checkmate you only need 6 points, though you can checkmate with less in some situations.

I have a 7 point advantage material wise, though defensively I'm nearly impervious.

I like this, the advantage you have this time is slightly smaller that the advantage you normally have on me by this late in the game.
