that is called a discovered attack...it is really useful for winning pieces. It could be a bishop attacking a queen, or in this case a queen attacking the king is the discovered attack.

as I said, watch the chess master 2000 tutorials, and also, I find playing with a 5 minute clock really helped me at getting faster at reading the board.

I Seriously need to get better at chess!!!
