this is why we need a resign option...true that you may earn a stalemate, but it is unlikely.

Wow I even screw up the joke. No blood in my alcohol... *Sigh*
Devin

Note that those are supposed to be Ks not Qs. :P There's no alcohol in my blood, officer, I swear!

Well, I can make this game last a lot longer, but I will inevitably be beaten by two queens, a rook and a knight so... Qg6 Qh8 R8++
Mike

agreed.

That's the pleasure of finally playing against people around my skill level. You guys are good enough to challenge my long standing 'skills' and force me to evolve. Since I left high school, I've constantly used the king pawn open and responded in kind. I'm outside of my comfort zone by trying all this new stuff, so losing is to be expected, but my game is too single faceted to compete at a higher level without trying new things. :)

yes, you have to make mistakes so that they can be commited to memory. My opening versus Ironman was weak, and I knew what I was doing was unadvisable, but at least now I remember why.

Yeah. And I didn't. Suddenly I was desperately trying to not have my game unravel. Which it did, because from what I've seen, the DOWNSIDE of the sicilian is that if you put out any aggression and fail, your structure falls apart dramatically fast. Well, I'm still having fun experimenting in the sicilian, and I'm learning a hell of a lot about it, ahaha.

hehehe, yep, he's decent for sure, but coming in as an unknown can sometimes help.
Devin

Talk about not paying attention. You give me a gift and I don't notice.
Devin

He trapped my trap. Getting my ass kicked.
Mike

Indeed. are you playing this ironman guy? he seems to know what he is doing.

http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1147066&kpage=1#reply12 that is the link...it happened on move 38-black, and apparently the whole building saw the mistake, but according to him he was in deep thought analyzing the end game, and didn't realize he missed that move until after he had won the game.

This game has the potential to last a very long time.
Devin

I was so used to your king being untouchable that I didn't notice I could put him in check. :P
Mike

hehehe...don't worry, I was watching the championship game for u-18 worlds, and Josh waitkins(spelling) did the same thing, except it was much more obvious than that.
Devin

Lol damn did NOT see that. And yes that would have given me the game. I was too focused on my hail mary checkmate.
Mike
4914 days ago
well actually, I think it would have cost me the game maybe
Mike
4914 days ago
yes, you could have but me in check to fork my knight.
Devin
4914 days ago
You mean two moves ago? My queen couldn't GET to c5 last move.
Mike
4914 days ago
I think you may have been able to force a draw with queen to c5 last move.
Mike

Devin

Mike
4915 days ago

Devin
