I tried that here, in an aggressive-defensive manner... unfortunately, I sacrificed my defensive ability and lost, lol.

my friend, an 1800-2000 rating suggested our level is a hard one to get out of, but he suggested to me to play hyper aggressive, even to the point of sacrificing pawns for developement to see what kinds of lines open up, and then see if I can recapture a pawn or a pawn + material.

Any feedback you could give me would be vastly appreciated. I don't have much theoretical knowledge of chess, most of what I do is from my analysis of the positions, though I'm trying to learn opens.

I saw another sequence that I could just barely defend against. Without my knight move, though, all I could do was delay. I made a few moves in the mid game that you forced me to take back, leading to no space for me. I think Nh4 really lost it for me, though. I had to commit too many resources to defend losing a pawn on exchange.

Agreed. That's mate. Didn't see those repercussions. I played much better this game, though.

well... I kind of think Ne8 was a wrong move, and in this situation even a single not-so-obvious mistake could have very serious consequences...

This game looks awfully familiar. Hopefully I can do a better job of it this time, lol.
