A note for you here: Moving the knight to f3 crippled you and led to this situation. You hurt your development of that line and made moving the bishop on g7 a wasted move. There is a development sequence where you do this early, the indian defense, but this late in the game you simply gave Mike way too much time to mobilize and it will cost you material and your structure.

That particular pawn move, followed by the bishop moving into the square it has vacation, is called... fianchetto, I think. It's extremely strong and dangerous to have your bishop controlling that diagonal, and in some situations can give the bishop late game like power early.
