The irreversible mistake was letting me trap your bishop on h4. That gave me a material advantage in terms of what was in play, because your bishop wasn't hindering my movement in any way whatsoever, except for defending the d1 square against my rook... who didn't really care about moving there. It took a little care for me to keep the pressure on, but I had the bishop pinned there. I was able to convert that advantage into my eventual win. Although it was awfully close still, because you had a rook and four pawns to fight my bishop, rook and two pawns. It was awfully close, I was almost ready to concede a stalemate when I saw that the board had opened up enough for me to win.

yes! but I must have made an irreversible mistake at some point because on my end, the game was lost! I noticed the potential checkmate and yest I did prevent it. However your material advantage dictated that the game was over. But from now on I will try and stay in the game until the end no matter how hopeless the situation may be. I noticed in our new game you made the queen pawn move.

By the way, I'm not sure why you surrendered after that. That was your best available move, you got yourself out of checkmate. Your king can now move to e4, freeing up your rook to exist again, lol. With your king where it is, your rook is pinned in that file to prevent immediate checkmate, leaving me free to march my pawn up and queen it. Though I could have simply exchanged rooks with you, doing Rf6+ Rxf6 exf6. My bishop prevents your c and d pawns from moving, while you king lacks the ability to stop both my b file pawn and my new f file pawn from promoting, leading to inevitable checkmate.

You did. Bishop to e4. You trapped your bishop and made it useless.

I must have made a horrible mistake somewhere down the line!

Although something as a sidenote... you should be able to get a stalemate out of this.

It's only going to suffer if you start playing more, lol. You're already 0-28-0 against me. Your only way to go is up.

That sounds great dude! my record is going to suffer tremendously over this, but its worth becoming a better chess player!

By the way, Justin: I expect you to beat me before the end of the semester.

So here's the plan, Justin. We're going to do the exact same open, over and over and over again, until you at LEAST stalemate me. ;)
