Game 27: History

makes sense, That pawn was a bit of a pain!

By the way, for analysis purposes, Justin, the turning point of the game was turn 13, or your seventh move. You blocked my check with your pawn, which I was freely able to take with my pawn. Because of the positioning I had, you could not threaten that pawn with another pawn, and I had the piece well defended with a relatively inaccessible bishop. That let me entrench deep in your territory and massively limit your ability to move your pieces as I threatened most of your squares. The better move would have been defense with your bishop. I might have taken your bishop with my bishop, but both of your knights were defending the square, so I wouldn't have gained much, whereas you would have prevented me from solidifying my hold in your territory. Also, that pawn was the lynchpin of my checkmate. Especially when you consider how many pieces you lost forestalling my checkmate for no return, you could have used your knight on the left side of the board to move up to b5 then take my pawn. You would have lost your knight, but it would have broken a lot of the control I held in your territory.

Finally, checkmate. You certainly avoided that for long enough, I've been trying to get that checkmate since around move 15.
Devin

You already dodged one checkmate, not sure if you saw it, lol.
Justin

Meh happens. I didn't think you'd still be AWAKE so I stopped watching for it. And when I was looking at moves you might do, that was the last thing I expected...

You castled how did you do it
Devin
4944 days ago
Sweet. Castling would be the hardest to implement there are a LOT of things that can stop it.

Castling should now work. (Just attempt to move the king 2 spaces).
Still working on the other 2 rules.

3 rules are still missing(castling, en passant, promotion).
I thought I could get to them this weekend but ran out of time.
It will be no more than 1 week before they work though.

Devin this is a new site, obviously there are going to be a few things that need adjusting at the beginning. No worries I will ask him to check it out for you!
Devin

:P You did exactly what I expected you to do, and I go to do my planned move and the game doesn't let me. That's never fun. I wonder if en passant is programmed in?
Justin
4945 days ago
let me text the programmer
Justin
4945 days ago
oh just hold on don't make a move yet
Devin
4945 days ago
... The game won't let me castle. Is that not programmed in yet, or is there something specific I have to do to make it work? All of the conditions are properly set.
Justin
4945 days ago
